Good News, Bad News

The good news:
I recently scored a pair of French chairs at an antique market, similar to the ones seen in Chassie Post's home in February's Domino Magazine.

The bad news:
They are covered in a starry, fuschia polyester moiré. The sheen is blinding.

Looks like I have something to drop off at the upholsterer when I pick up my desk chair. To be continued...

  1. Oh you are so wrong!!! This is only good news. you get to get the exact fabric you want - many people just settle for whatever's on the chair if its at all passable. maybe put a beautiful linen damask on it!! or something more hip like a Quadrille toile. the chairs are beautiful.

And come to Houston, I'll take you to lunch and bring Sarah too!

  2. Thanks Jessie and Joni.

I know you are right about this being good news in the long run. What I really meant is that I would love to bask in my fabric options for a few more months. Instead I am forced to give them immediate attention. Decisions are tough!

  5. many years ago, I scored two bergere chairs and they were in a deep navy taffeta, torn to smithereens, they have been re-upholstered several times and now are in a natural soft chenille sort of fabric and I call them my caterpillar chairs. so, you certainly "scored" in my book and we will look forward to the metamorphosis
    of you chairs!
