In honor of the ongoing Eero Saarinen exhibit at Atlanta's modern design museum, aka
MODA, I began to prepare what was going to my personal ode to the Tulip Table. Then I stumbled upon the Turkish design blog,
A Mad Tea Party with Alis, and realized there was no way I could do it better than
this. The Furniture of Eero Saarinen: Designs for Everyday Living at
MODA through May 5th.

In other "Current Exhibition News", one of my favorite Atlanta artists, Carolyn Carr is now showing at the
Spanierman Modern in New York City through April 5th. I promise this is the last time I show this photo, but don't the two look great in the same room?

The tulip chair and table...such classics! Boy, I sure wish I could be in Atlanta to check out that exhibit.
ReplyDeleteThe top photo is absolutely sublime. Simple elegance, modern and classic...oh how I wish I were in Atlanta seeing this exhibit! Great post!
ReplyDeleteYou can show that photo all you want- perfection!
ReplyDeleteLove the combination of modern and classic in the last picture. The textures in this livingroom is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThe Carr room is still amazing. Are you going to be able to get a tulip table to mix with "old brown chairs?" Weren't you the one who hoped to riff on Temple St. Clair's dining room?
ReplyDeleteGreat title!!!
ReplyDeleteDear Brilliant - isn't Alis a fab blog!!!
ReplyDeleteforget the table (for just a moment) and witness the amazing light fixture overhead. gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteby the way, I do that all of the time: come up with a cool post to write... start Googling and discover someone has done an amazing job already. nice knowing I'm not alone.
i LOVE those chairs. i just wish they weren't $$$$$$$.
