A play on the traditional Christmas wreath and stocking featured in Cottage Living, accented by the ubiquitous (but still lovely) Imperial Trellis.
In case a
Leica isn't in the Christmas budget this year, here is an inexpensive alternative for the stocking--and quite possibly the best invention since TiVo.

The
GoGo Gorillapod is a flexible, mini tripod that attaches to your camera and can cling to almost any surface. It's perfect for those situations when you want your entire group in the picture, but you don't want to bother a passerby or risk having a stranger run off with your camera. (Does that ever happen in real life, or just in the movies?) It can also be used as a stand for your iPhone.

Since we don't have
Slim Aarons following us around, the mini tripod is how we took advantage of this photo op. (The result was our 2006 Christmas card).
Happy Holidays!
I've tried setting my camera on a ledge or other surface to get a group shot, but the results aren't usually that good, so something like this could help get better pictures. Especially if it's easy to carry around.
ReplyDeletei usually stand the camera on a beer bottle, but then i got one of these little babies and i LOVE it.
ReplyDeletefun stuff. what a great picture is that really you and your hubby on vacation... makes me want to book a flight somewhere warm!
ReplyDeleteOh, that photo makes me miss Ravello! My husband and I were there over the summer. What a great photo
ReplyDeletePigtown, Love the beer bottle idea--that is an economical solution!
ReplyDeleteSara, You can set these up on any uneven surface or coil the legs around a railing--and it is small enough to put in your pocket.
Anon, Yes this is Beautiful Ravello. Good eye.
Sweet Life, You are close enough to take a train.
: )
Millie
go go gorillapad - i want it just so i can ask for it!
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog today via Decorno and think it's great! That wreath arrangement is really interesting, I've never seen that before!

ReplyDeleteThat photo is absolutely beautiful of you two! Love the little gizmo--good stocking stuffer!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photo.
ReplyDeleteRe Pigtown's comment about the beer bottle, I recently saw a plastic bottle cap with a tripod screw fitting attached to it -- the idea being that you can put it onto any drink bottle to use as a secure base for a camera.
those are quite the designs... i like the gorilapod :D
