This textured, raffia chevron fabric caught my eye in a fashion spread from the latest
Town and Country. Unfortunately for my plans to reupholster a bench with the find, this fabric is vintage. For anyone interested in a set of four chairs however, they are available from
Liz O'Brien via 1st Dibbs.
The floral dress is from the Ralph Lauren Collection, Photograph by Jonathan Skow. Set of four chairs designed by Howard Perry Rothberg, 1968
Update: Courtney has offered a pretty good fabric substitute from
F. Schumacher in a linen/cotton blend. I hope to pick up a sample tomorrow.

love a really good zig-zag.
give me a chevron anytime!
herringbones too!
Fab find. Doesn't Twinkle Living have a similar zig-zag? Wonder if it comes in anything that could be re-invented as upholstery?
I love it!! Also I am giving you the "You Make my Day" award! There is more info on my blog! Thanks for writing such a great blog.
All the best,
Ronda
Courtney has a good point- surely there is something similar out there?? The chairs remind me of that great zig zag painted floor that Albert Hadley did years ago.
Twinkle's zig zag is actually very close in scale, but I especially love the texture of this chair fabric. If you enlarge the photo, you can see the ridged effect of the raffia. It looks very Ralph Lauren to me, but they don't have anything either.
pretty!
I just love these chairs!! Yeah, I do remember seeing a very similar chair around too.
What about Schumacher's High Voltage in espresso?
it's a 2008 linen/cotton, i think:

Ah ha--getting warmer. Thanks you Style Court!!!! I have amended my post for anyone else on the hunt.
If the scale is all off I'll feel pretty silly -- hope it works.
I'm a big fan of using menswear inspired cloth for furniture. For example, I've used an exploded brown and white houndstooth on a nondescript office chair here. It turned out OK. But this! Wow.
i love the ziggy!
I also love the fact that it's textured. It gives it more interest and weight.
Wonderful...and FINALLY Schumacher has redone their website with a search engine!
I am with Patricia, I have a love for Chevron patterns! Loving this trend.
OMG - love them!
thanks for posting this- first, i love an upholstered parsons chair used as a dining chair- so 70's chic.
and second, thanks to sytle court, i went to the schumacher site and discovered a wall covering that i think would be perfect for a project i'm working on.
thanks again!
