Unspectacular Details

Ronda from All The Best just tagged me with instructions to list six "unspectacular details" about myself, so here it goes...

Unspectacular Detail #1
My 15 year high school reunion is next weekend.

Unspectacular Detail #2
I was asked to make CD mixes as favors for the party. Having to condense four years of music from the early 90's into 20 songs is proving more difficult than I anticipated. However, Ice Cube and 10,000 Maniacs go together surprisingly well.

Unspectacular Detail #3
I have listened to Drown by Smashing Pumpkins 15 times today as it has become my new favorite old song.

Unspectacular Detail #4
I graduated the same year as the fictional characters in "Beverly Hills 90210" and "Saved by the Bell".

Unspectacular Detail #5
I am wearing a dress from the Kathie Lee Collection in the top photo--not even kidding. Apparently Kathie Lee had the white, conservative dress market cornered in 1993 as it was difficult to find one by any other "designer". I am also wearing sheer white panty hose with my white pumps. Cute.

Unspectacular Detail #6
I am really excited to see my old friends next weekend!

I am also tagging:
Laura Loves
The Sweet Life With Olives
Jennifer Jane's Style Journal

Please visit All The Best for the rules. Thanks for tagging me, Ronda.

Funny, how time marks our life by the current day music and fashion and the farther that we get away from it, the quirkier it gets.

Even at the time, we knew our dresses were hideous. I had this really cute white Nicole Miller dress that I wanted to wear, but it was not conservative enough.

Oh, you should have gone with the Nicole Miller, even then you were more hip than most! :-)

Oh my goodness... I loved nicole miller in HS. One of my prom dresses was a little black Nicole Miller which I still have somewhere... bought from Phipps Plaza! I'm going to try and email you so we can talk Atlanta stuff! Thanks for the tag:-)

Thanks for the tag. It definitely has me thinking, although I'm pretty sure I won't be able to top that Kathie Lee dress detail. That is quite impressive.

Have a great time at your reunion!

Oh the memories! I was in high school at the same time so I can definitely relate. I had a black and white dress like the one Kelly on 90210 wore to her prom, the one that was black velvet with a big white bow around the shoulders. At the time, I'm sure I thought this made it the coolest dress ever. Yikes!

I had that dress with the bow too--except it was all black. That was probably the last time I enjoyed putting on a cocktail dress too. (I have a fear of formal wear that increases with age).

Yes, the whole white dress for graduation ceremony debacle. I can't even remember where I found mine, and I too had the sheer white hose with white pumps. In fact, I just came across a photo from graduation ceremonies, and I swear I looked like I was 12! I had nowhere to go but up!
