"Support friends in the arts. Especially if they stink." - Rule Number 84 from 1001 Rules For My Unborn Son.
Lucky for me, all of my friends in the arts are super talented. One in particular is Walker Lamond, author of the aforementioned blog turned book, Rules For My Unborn Son.
If you're unfamiliar with the material, it's just as much about style as it is solid advice on how not to be a jackass (right down to the Pantone perfect cover). The vintage reader meets Life magazine imagery adds to the sentimental journey. Some of these lessons may be exactly what your own parents taught you and some will make you laugh out loud, but I'm sure you will come across a few new words to live by.

What a great book. Thanks for sharing. I agree, everyone I know is a great artist.
Love this.
Looks like fun! Thanks for the tip!
What a darling book-thanks for the tip!
I need this for my born sons.
It's my son's 14th birthday today. *perfect* gift!
Oh gosh I think I need it just for my coffee table-seems like a pretty good go to for a laugh. Not to mention that yellow cover and blue typeface will look SWEET with my new yellow chair and blue walls. It really IS the little things!
I love Walker's blog & have followed him on facebook for a bit now. You are so lucky to be his friend. I hope he finds great success with his new book. I suspect it's going to be a big hit. It will certainly be on my gift giving list! Great post xx
Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog. VERY appreciated.
The site is lots of fun to read. The book will be a keeper.
I understand that he had a daughter, is that right? So rule #1001 might be "Don't count your chickens..."
The quote of the mother and birthday made me think instantly of 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower', because it's the exact advice Charlie the protagonist gives the reader!
Seems to be a sweet book. :) Though mum was bottle-feeding me coffee and I turned out just fine ! :D
