Lust, Caution

Director Ang Lee (Sense and Sensibility and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) has a new film opening this weekend. Winner of Best Picture at the Venice Film Festival, Lust, Caution is an espionage story set in 1940's Shanghai, and curiously rated NC-17.

Click here to view the (PG) trailer.

Update: I loved the music so much from the trailer, I decided to investigate further. The Lust, Caution is composed by Alexandre Desplat, who also did the original score for The Painted Veil.

So glad you posted this. I've heard great things about this movie regardless of the NC17 rating. Can't wait to see it!

I can't wait to live somewhere permanently so I can sign up for a Netflicks-like service and add this to the list.

I am a sucker for movies about this era. I am also loving the music in this trailer. I will have to find out if it was composed specifically for the movie.

It looks so beautiful - the cinematography!! I love it. Last year my daughter's favorite dvd was Memoirs of a Geisha. We watched it probably 20 times!!! I love movies about Chinese and Japanese cultures, they have such beautiful design sensibilities.
