Tory Burch's luxe, lacquered and mirrored bar puts me in the mood for a Harvey Wallbanger on the rocks and a little Chuck Mangione playing on the hi-fi. (Photograph from Vogue Living: Houses, Gardens, People).
What better to add to the fantasy than lighting a few of Burch's own votives, made of bamboo extract, fresh citrus, water jasmine, dewy greens, osmanthus, sandalwood, white musk and amber.
For a similar vibe at a fraction of the price, try West Elm's Red Currant candle. I have this one myself and it smells divine (at $6.00).

Thanks for sharing this pic, its fabulous! I'm still yet to get my hands on a copy of that book..
Red currant...that sounds intriguing. I must check it out.
Brilliant alternative from West Elm. I'm so glad Bowles decided to include Burch's home in the book. I flip to it all the time :)
I got the Vogue book as a "Thanksgiving gift" and I love it. I missed many of the spreads in Vogue the first time around, so I am really enjoying reading it.
I adore that bar. Heck, I love her whole apartment! But I am glad they included this shot in the book since it was not in the original article.
We're treated, once again, to your trademark evocative narrative. A Harvey Wallbanger? And Chuck on the Hi-Fi? Oh, man - so fine. (BTW, Chuck's website is...um...really something.) And I must say, the VOGUE book IS such divine indulgence.
I love that bar! What a great color! I actually saw those votive holders at West Elm recently. They are really cute. I didn't see any red currant candles but the ones from Votivo smell amazing. The first time I smelled them was at Mayle on Elizabeth Street. They always remind me of that cute little shop!
DM, Chuck Mangione is the shizzz. Everyone needs to take a stroll through Central Park with "Feels So Good" on the ipod at least once before they die.
HB, Votivo's currant is great--and I love the little glass they come in. I have never been to Mayle. Will need to check that out on my visit--which is in a few days actually!
POC--I remember seeing Burch's apartment on your blog and loved it. I am glad to have it in book form too (with a bonus pic).
I've always wanted to have a bar. Now that I'm a huge drinker or anything, but it just seems like such a classy thing to have.
i Love lacquer - especially in Red. I have the book in my shopping list at Amazon, I must order it. Thank you for sharing. Fabulous!
Wow! Now that's red! You've painted the perfect picture, too, by adding in the votives.
I actually like the West Elm votive holder better! Notice the "cone" light in the bar. I'm on a jag.
Mrs. Blandings, I thought of you when I saw that light fixture!
Love this photo...love the book! I'll join you!!
