Top Design: Eddie Ross

While Bravo's Top Design has several talented designers on the roster this year, one who stands out is Martha Stewart Living Senior Style Editor, Eddie Ross.

A bow-tie guy with a culinary degree and a tureen collection, it's easy to see how he fits in so well with the gang over at Living. For his Top Design audition tape, he finds a pair of painted candlesticks at a flea market, takes them home to strip them with a vibrating toothbrush and reveals the Sheffield silver plate beneath. Then he uses them to set the dinner table in his adorable New York City apartment by candlelight. I almost cried it was so cute.

Of course, I would probably think the whole thing was a hoax if not for his highly informative blog, which details his weekly antiquing adventures. This guy knows his flea market finds.

The photos of his apartment on his blog make me want to redecorate which I might just start doing this weekend! Thanks for the great link! I think I might also have to drag myself out of bed Saturday morning to go to the flea market!

Oh my god, seriously? I hate Eddie. He is obnoxious, catty, rude, degrading, mediocre at best in the talent department, and this week he even made fun of little people. He is a terrible human being, and he's simply imitating Rachel Ashwell's schtick from ten years ago and not doing it half as well.

This was posted before the whole vase-breaking "do you know who I work for" episode. I still think he is the best on that show and I dig his New England vibe. Rachel Ashwell on the other hand has to be my least favorite design phenom. of the 20th century. Crusty pastels and tea stained florals--vomit.

I so totally agree with you. He has to be the most negative, rude, judgmental, egotistical and insulting person I've ever seen.

I forgot two-faced. Is there anyone he didn't bash? Well, besides Nathan - who is only a couple degrees less annoying than Eddie.

OMG - seriously ... take a Midol and get over yourself.

HI Millie! I liked him for the first two episodes as well. Now it's all about "panties" and "Martha Martha Martha!" He managed to disrespect two of my all-time favorites, Todd Oldham and Jonathan Adler in one episode!

I do respect eddie's work. however, with an attitude like that he would last in the southern US for about 5 min max! he needs an adjustment!

"he would last in the southern US for about 5 min"

WHAT? A pretentious queen of a designer in the "southern US" (whatever TF that means.) There are so many fat, rich housewives in those red Southern states who would just love to have a pretentious, Martha Stewart-esque queen designing and decorating their homes. (That's half the decorator population in Redneckia.) He "wouldn't last?" Oh, give me a break.

Southern wealthy housewives make the quintessential, perfect fag hags, honey. Between their interiors designers and their hair dressers, those women ensure Southern queens keep their platinum cards paid.

I initially liked Eddie personally and on the show, but he proved himself to be a mean-spirited person who is kind to your face while he needs you, but as soon as he feels you are no longer useful - out you go, with the little people and shop keepers. He's talented and his blog is great, but he's never going to amount to much... there is only one Martha and he's missing not only soul, but a unique voice - imho...

I love how the yellow lamp matches the yellow wallpaper in the home.
