The Simple Life
Looking for more India Hicks in Harbour Island? Curiosity led me down the garden path to her Crabtree and Evelyn website, India Hicks Island Living. The videos are a little hokey (there are four in all), but they give some insight into the inspiration for her fragrances, and a glimpse of what life would be like as an aristocrat in paradise. Be sure to check out the "Conversation with India" segment and "Experience" the Collections.
For more India Hicks, check out the Stylecourt archive.
On a heavier note, India and her mother, Pamela Mountbatten have written a new book, India Remembered: A Personal Account of the Mountbattens During the Transfer of Power.
Other titles by India Hicks: Island Life and Island Beauty.

Love that last photo!
thanks, this new book had escaped me! BTW: I did an Oliver Messel post, if you're interested :)
That first photo is just wonderful, I'd like to be there right now!!
I must read that book! I love Pamela!!
Thanks for the comments.
Style Court, thanks for the Messel reading. I just linked to your India Hicks treasure trove as well.
Thanks so all this info on India Hicks, esp. the upcoming book.

the first photo is marvelous, I wish I could escape there for a few weeks.
Thanks for stopping by my blog! I really like your photos, especially the red and black decorating scheme.
I am such a fan of India Hicks. The coral table is a little much, but I adore the first two images!
Agreed on the red coral overdose--I wonder if she is responsible for bringing it back into vogue or just another victim of the trend. I do like the historical red coral prints she has incorporated into her packaging though.
I worked with Mountbatten's great grand-daughter. She was an amazing young gal. I read a few books about him, so will be looking forward to this one. A family with a lot of good things, but also a lot of tragedy.
