Closet Lust III

And dressing rooms too...

Kendall Wilkinson designed this dressing area for a San Francisco showhouse. The chair is from the shop she created and owns, Threshold. Teal edging on the cabinetry matches the Alan Campbell for Quadrille fabrics. (Image from Traditional Home).

Cote de Texas posted this sophisticated dressing room by James Radin (photo for House Beautiful). If you have not yet seen her brilliant post on the set design for the movie, Something's Gotta Give, go now.

Have a wardrobe of solid, neutral clothes like I do? A block-print wallpaper by Farrow & Ball could add some color and pattern. (Image from Domino).

Swimwear designer Sylvie Cachay has a NYC dressing area which is home to a mirrored vanity and her collection of Christian Louboutins. (Photo from Elle Magazine).

Inspired by ballgowns and parties, designer Jamie Drake used silk moire to line the wall of this girlish dressing room for the 2007 Kips Bay Showhouse. Benjamin Moore "Lavender Mist" paint is used for the built-ins and fabrics are from his own line for F. Schumacher. (Photo from Traditional Home).

Nice. I totally dig the composition of Sylvie Cachay's dressing space (hadn't seen that before). And I'm loving the portion-control use of wallpaper shown here. I've done this on one wall of my office/studio - using a fabulous pink/chartreuse Tricia Guild pattern that would be overwhelming otherwise.

Good weekend to you!

See, just when you think, "I'm not getting this magazine anymore; I'm over it." you see something totally fabulous that was in its pages. That top image made me gasp - literally. I love it. These are all very fun - any of us would be so lucky to have the space. Wonder if all three boys would bunk together so I can have the nursery for a closet?

Oh, thank you so much for the closet posts. I am creating a boutique style closet in a new master bedroom so I am trying to gather ideas. These are stunning!

Beautiful post, thank you. I'll be studying Part I, II and III!

Have a great weekend!

Oh my ... I love that these are living spaces as well as storage spaces. There's a place to sit down and enjoy as opposite to just run in and grab something.

Oh, if only I could knock out a few walls and build myself a shrine to my less than designer wardorbe. These rooms are all so fun. Every girl should have one1 Thanks for putting them all together.

Dianamuse, good weekend to you too. I agree about the wallpaper--especially as a pattern-phobe like myself.

Mrs. Blandings, I don't subscribe, but Trad Home occasionally has some surprises. Other times it's just as pedestrian as Good Housekeeping.

Melissa, I am glad you can use these for inspiration. I know I will.

Kelly, I could just hang out in these rooms too.

Style Court, The fabric on this chair is great--almost a combination of a chevron and zebra pattern.

Thanks Jackie, your post on ottomans today could come in handy for anyone designing one of these dressing rooms!

I love them all! So beautiful! We use that Jamie Drake fabric in the last photo, Dizzy Gillespie, all the time for girl's bedrooms. It's super cute!

Oh I've had closet lust for years. I look forward to having a home where I can convert a bedroom into a closet. Something spacious, well lit, full of windows and light. Just thinking about it makes me happy :)

I can think of nothing so decadent as a wall full of purses. ;)

I love, love, love your closet posts!

Funny about Traditional Home...I did a 3 year subscription, and this is my last month! I am not sure if I want to sign up again. But, it is always fun to get a new mag in the mail, so I may do it.

Hi Brilliant:
Blush, thanks!!! Just saw this.
much thanks, again.

I vote no to Traditional Homes too. I'm sure I'll continue buying it, but just to flip through quickly while waiting in line for Starbucks, then the trash. It used to be a favorite, too. What happened? Also, I told someone else this, but Ikea has fabulous closet units! Lacquered ones too. If I could, I would do an entire room lined in them, with a huge chair and ottoman in the middle and behind one cabinet would be a pull down ironing board for emergencies. Thanks again for your kind words.

Great post, they're all fabulous, but I think I like the first one most. I just wish I had that sort of space to create my own wonderful walk in closet!

Hi again! I was so inspired by this collection of posts that I wrote about it on my own blog. I just can't get enough closet porn I suppose. Too much fun for a girl!

I am in love with the blue when you open the closet doors. I think that is a nice touch right there.
