Gossip Girl

"You know you love me.
xoxo, Gossip Girl"

Unfortunately, I do. Even though I managed to avoid an entire decade of crappy teen dramas--The O.C., Dawson's Creek, and 90210, I can't seem to resist the siren song of this one. It must be that magical combination of beautiful, upper east siders with ridiculous sounding names (Serena Van der Woodson?) who drink martinis at slumber parties and backstab each other all the way to the Ivy Leagues. It's like a weekly version of Cruel Intentions with a snarky voice-over bonus.

I LOVE THIS SHOW!!! & like to think that when I eventually leave Cape Town and make it to New York my life will be exactly like that! It's sad, but no need to pity me, I live in a dream world and like it like that...

Oh gosh, I thought I was the only one (i.e. non-high-schooler) who watched it! It's so bad that it's good.

I try not to seek it out but if I stumble upon it, I will watch Gossip Girl and in fact enjoy it. Is that kind of like not inhaling?
Love the blog!

I stumbled across Gossip Girl the other day. Is she supposed to be a teenager? She looks close to thirty, to me...

A bit off the topic, but a big congrats for your recent Top 10 award! SOOO well deserved, Millie!

Sounds like a fun show to watch, I'll try to catch it the next time that I am in the States.

No comment (and no clue) about GG - I'm much happier fixating on the photos of Grace Kelly from your earlier post.

I do LOVE your fab bloggy - had to say so...again. Congrats on the citations!

Millie, you were too modest and gracious to allow comments on the post below, but I have to say congrats!! So well deserved!

I thought I would spare anyone from having to comment on that one. : ) Thanks for all the nice comments today.

I know I should be totally embarrassed to announce my bad taste in television programming, but I did not want anyone to miss out on this one, if it is your cup of tea. And yes, the first time I watched GG, I could not tell who was a parent and who was a student. My guess is the entire cast is in their 20s.

Hey no one has said anything about those inset panels behind the cast, or the chairs :)

Ha. The sets are kind of over the top. In fact, there is not a lot of subtlety to be found with this show, but that is why we love it.

You definitely deserved both awards. And turning off your comments doesn't mean we won't comment on it! Nice try there missy!

You have a great blog, but Gossip Girl? I am out of the loop on that one. I'll take your word for it!

PS. I had to come back and clarify my comment, I was teasing you by calling you a little missy, but I realized it might've sounded like I thought that was your name, ha! I've blundered people's names before so I didn't want you to think that! :-)

I love Gossip Girl. Did not watch Dawson's Creek or the rest, but I love this one.

One more thing (off post topic): I think you should jump on a plane and get yourself here by the 26th...we can go check out the Princess Grace exhibition at Sotheby's. Not possible? At least visit here: acelebrationofgrace.com

Inimitable.

First of all, many congrats! And second, I haven't seen Gossip Girl, but I love some Dirty Sexy Money. Completely addicted to that one.

oh thank god, group therapy! i caught a couple episodes and fell right in. can i admit i love the hills too or is that just too much? congrats on your award!

Things That Inspire said...

Yes, I am a Gossip Girl fan too. But Dirty Sexy Money is my new favorite. It is worth watching for the sets alone...huge NYC homes, amazing art. So, tonight you can watch Gossip Girl at 9, then switch the channel over to Dirty Sexy Money at 10. Wednesday night is the best tv night this fall!

I am so glad that I am not alone in my addiction to Gossip Girl! I try to tell myself that I only watch it because it's set in NYC and they wear great clothes but it really is fun to watch. I wish my school had been that cool!

I sort of got hooked on this too with my two daughters. Must be the New York thing. And the clothes.
