Speaking of Halloween...

Domino Magazine contributor, Allison Sarofim is known for throwing the season's wildest costume party at her West Village brownstone pictured above. Imagine this room filled with famous creatives, like a modern day Studio 54 (which coincidentally was the theme of her 2005 bash). (Photo by Paul Costello for Domino, April 2006).

The Rue de Lota apartment of early 20th century designer, Eileen Gray served as the inspiration behind Sarofim's zebra-lined room. Gray's 1926 Bibendum Chair is featured as a pair in this photograph.

Last year's Halloween party was a Hieronymous Bosch-themed "Garden of Earthly Delights" for which Sarofim and Elle Decor's Carlos Mota dressed the part in 2006. (Photo from Style.com).

Here is a re-styled version of the same room with Sarofim in Chanel. You can view more (including a fabulous Moroccan tented lounge) at Avenue Magazine. (Photographed by Gray Scott).

I like how you've shown the inspiration behind Sarofim's use of the zebra skin on the sofa- I don't think I've seen that image of Eileen Gray's apt either!

Thanks Jennifer. I was glad I could find that Eileen Gray room view.

Gawker commenters are total haters. I mean Sarofim is a bit mannequinesque, but I would LOVE to go to one of her parties! I mean if Thom and Valentino are there, sign me up.

I think that the zebra rug was only used on the sofa during the shoot as an homage to Eileen Gray. I don't think it's usually there but it's still a great idea. She has a great art collection too. I love the piece behind the sofa and her Mark Rothko.

Thanks. I missed the original Domino spread. It is fun to see how the same items have been moved around to change up the vibe. I would love to know who did the bridge piece. I saw her Rothko on Decorno--very cool.

Hard to believe that apartment is by an early 20th century designer--it looks so modern. From the pictures of her party, it looks like Alison really knows how to throw a bash!

Cool angle here Millie. Now I'll think of parties whenever I see that apartment. Love the Halloween tie-in.

Allison looks so plasticy... can we take a quick vote to see how many people think she's had some work done?

I still think she's pretty sassy.

Ha. Shall I add a poll?
